I think most treat it as a night to get pissed,you hear very little of St Andrew's Day,Saint David's Day or St George's Day.I think it's more of a marketing dream for Guinness.

Alot of Irish folk came to Scotland so alot of Scottish have a history is Ireland, Still its easier to understand Scots celebrating St Patricks day than Scots wearing England tops?? (still to meet a Scot with one on to give me a good answer as to why! unless they are part english)
