Not everyone has perfect conjugation, spelling, etc... even in their own language.

I make many mistakes , one in particular is:

Maybe and may be.

I know one is the adverb etc... But every time I write it I have a doubt lol

What mistake do you often make when writing or speaking English even though you know the rule??

The reason they exist is so that the written word can be CLEARLY understood.

And it's "all's", not alls.

Hate the punctuation police...

I agree with kola

If you can understand the sentence that should be enough.

I hate bad spelling but I'd be the 1st to admit my punctuation is pretty poor and my use of words in the correct form is pretty crap too but as long as I'm generally understood all is good.

I find most people who come here from Europe or afar have a better grasp of my language than me. Some of that is down to my education and a large part laziness and the British arrogance of thinking everyone should be able to understand me .

Would you correct me if I wrote in incorrect French?

Understand - Understood - Understood

I said that another reason for punctuations is for the reader to take a breath when reading a text.

What is me correcting you French got to do with it?

English is my first language. I have spoken it all my life. I believe if it is your native language, you should be able to speak & write it properly. If I was a French speaker, and ignored the correct grammar and punctuation, you would correct me.

That is all I'm doing, along with anyone else who is irritated by slovenly language use.

Good punctuation.

It's the difference between knowing your shit, and knowing you're shit!
