De-icing the car

Glasgow/London

I hate coming out the house and finding i need to spend the next 5 minutes scraping the ice off my car, only to find that it frosts right back up by time i reach the end of my road...

What do fellow fabbers do to combat this morning ritual? Scrape? Heater? Kettle water?

"Get two large bottles fill with hot water and sit on top of dash stick them out ten minutes before your due to leave .

tvbride suggested a windscreen cover and these work a treat, all you need is a peace of cardboard over your windscreen and your screen wipers to hold it in place,

remove and drive away, no defrost needed.

Luke warm water thrown over the windscreen is an instant defrost too

note;

Luke warm water, not boiling water or you may find a cracked screen

thankfully summer is coming

Start the car from inside the house from a app from the manufacturer while the car is still locked.

Just remember extreme temps can play havoc with remote c/l so if ya don't have a spare key keep a door open whilst ya warm up yr car

Get rid of the car before winter, try to win the lottery before spring comes, pamper yourself with a new car in March. Or cheaper option - buy a big bottle of vodka to warm you up on a cold night - this way you have an excuse to get some booze, plus you'll end up with a bottle for your warm tap water
