Anyone else in the same boat here? My son and daughter are both off to uni and my home will be so so quiet with.only my cat for company! It's a big milestone in their lives and it's now arrived. Just need to make sure I see them often! Empty nest syndrome I think they call it!

My daughter is 15 and gets her 'attitude' from watching Ru Paul's drag race. Any university that wants her can take her now, teach her some manners and send her back in 3 years

Yeah I think it will be tough. Mind you they are going 50miles away so not too bad! Don't think they will want me visiting too much but I know I will try to!

Think of all the other things you can do with an empty house! Less laundry as well until they come home.

I've still two at home. One has moved out.

My oldest will be away next summer so that gives me a few more months to tip top further my cooking and buy some Tupperware

He'll be back for mama's cooking on Sundays... that's my plan anyway

But also nice to see them grow up and as headmasters love to say... see them becoming responsible citizens lol

Big hug T x

Thanks. I agree - it is great to see them out there having to figure things out for themselves...I will definitely endeavour to do more long distance walks and travel more.subject to my budget!

I can't wait until mine leave!

They are my biggest barrier to getting meets.

Well, actually, the fact that I am a pierced t-girl freak is my biggest barrier, kids come second!

I'm sure they will be back with washing and for cash top ups.

On the plus side, you have given them roots and wings. I'm sure you wouldn't want it any other way.

Won't make the house any less quiet tho'.

A new chapter begins.

xx

I've got 3 you can borrow at any time!

In all seriousness, I'm not looking forward to that day. They are noisy, they fight and my house is never clean. But I miss them even if they are away a week.

Keep busy x

It all seems to go by so quickly for us with kids doesn't it? But it is a case of keeping busy and not dwelling too much on it. It's part of the package of having kids

....if you hang on a bit you get grandkids. Then it all starts all over again. But it's brilliant.

If they're happy, healthy and getting on with their lives that's a blessing. No need to miss them. They'll be back.
