Metal head here
Far too many albums out there to give you a top ten never mind one
I am listening to a lot of Opeth, Dream Theater, Baroness at the moment
Also heavily into instrumental bands like Mogwai, Russian Circles and going along to see Toska next month for the second time this year |

Gotta add in 65 days of static in the instrumental bands. |

Got nightwish on heavy rotation just now.
I’d read about them and thought I’d check them out. “Symphonic rock” they call it.
Can’t believe they’ve been going so long and I’d never heard them.
Pisses me off though when bands do “uk tour” that’s just London, Birmingham and Manchester. |

Me me meeee!!
Currently listening to very little "mainstream" and going for the less well known.
Massive Wagons
Falling Red
The Idol Dead
Cadaver Club
Heartbreak Remedy
Late Night Legacy
Matty James
.... the list goes on. Off to see The Burning Crows next week.
Oh and I've got a sneaky bit of bluegrass from The Dead South sneaking into the playlist

Would have to interject at some point and say it’s past tense. So why try playing closer or something like that. |

"Based in Inverness. Right now giving Ghost a whirl although Amon Amarth regularly being aired. All time fave band is Y&T, ever since I saw them on the Monsters of Rock Tour in '84."
Y&T are supporting Saxon at the barras on October 18th. Wayward sons also on the bill.
I went to that monsters of rock tour and left early cos whitesnake were awful. A drum solo three songs in ...lord protect me!
Y&T and Gary Moore were great though. |

Listening to a lot of Ghost at the moment. New album is very 80’s pop though. |

Love Prog and possibly the most listened to genre in my house.
Rush....not quite my cuppa though I’m the only drummer I know who thinks Peart is over-rated
Dream Theater...Portnoy and more recently Mangini are both better drummers than Neil.
James LaBrue’s vocals are starting to let him down now. Still an excellent band |

Big rock fan. All the usual suspects mentioned already especially a resurgence in AC/DC and Queen due to needing to educate my kiddos.
A lot of bands mentioned I'll need to check out though (finger well off the pulse).
Anyone going to The Storm Returns with Magnum and Gun headlining? I hummed too long and it's now sold out. Magnum a big guilty pleasure. |

Should definitely try, they are awesome to see live"
Fair do’s - any favourites? I mainly have A-sun amissa, William Fowler Collins and Yellow Swans on rotation |

Huge rock and metal fan. Oo many bands to pick favs. Love going to gigs as often as I can. The only downside is they're getting very expensive!
Played in some classic rock cover bands. Loved that. |

Anyone planning to see Haken at Glasgow St Luke’s? Think it’s on Saturday 16th Feb next year - I’m planning an overnight hotel stay maybe going to CJ’s after the gig |

Thanks to the many of you who mentioned Bad Wolves. Had heard their "Zombie" cover a few times when Deezer played it for me, but hadn't heard the album proper. Just listened to it this afternoon, and it's good.
And I listen to too many bands of pretty much all metal genres to start listing them all...
Having a real Machine Head urge recently, and been going through their back catalogue (on repeat!), after the break-up scare a week or two ago.
Bands with brand new-albums I highly recommend checking out:
Revocation - The Outer Ones
Omnium Gathering - The Burning Cold
Fit For A King - Dark Skies
Darian Malakian and Scars on Broadway - Dictator
Mycelia - Apex

The Lazys worth a punt for those who are AC/DC inclined. A bit of them, with a sprinkle of We Are Harlot and some Buckcherry thrown in to garnish.
Decent |
