What's the best artist or album or whatever that you've discovered recently?

For me its probably VHS Head. Though Caspian are brilliant too.

Another one to look up. Also consider pan pan for your ambient(ish) electronic needs. And Blood of Heroes for a bit of industrial / drone metal / dubstep crossover.

You can't beat an old Glasgow band called Love & Money. Very 80's but a couple of excellent albums. They have reformed and are playing their new album at King Tuts on the 5th May ... got tickets and to the after show party.

There was a band called Sehala, but I need to get a new female singer!! ... Still fame eludes me!

Danielle de Niese singing Handel 'So numi eterni', from cantata HMV 145. Handel was such a master for the voice - no one can rival him.

Feindflug are another great band to continue with the German theme.

"Im loving my German bands just now"

If you're loving your German bands, I suggest Helloween, Blind Guardian, Doro and Warlock.

I couldn't not mention my favourite unknown bands. Raised By Swans are the Canadian, undiscovered and possibly better version of snow patrol and Midas Fall are an Edinburgh / Manchester post-rock / indie band with vocals that turn me to mush.

Why not look some of them up? You won't like them all, but you might find something you fall in love with
