Absolutely love Gold! We're hoping to get back for our 3rd stay this summer. It's such a chilled place!

The upper floors are the best for views although you can have a bit of a wait for the lift when it's busy. On our first visit we were 'upgraded' to floor 7, I believe. They're essentially the same as the lower floors but the upgrades have a coffee pod machine instead of a drip filter and some nicer toiletries.

I think we were on floor 5 last time, overlooking the upper sun terrace. We still had a nice view. Anything below that and you're in the internal courtyard.

We stayed in Superior Balcony Room before Christmas, 8th floor. Had a great view to the swimming pool and the dunes. Very nice room & hotel

Next place we’ve stayed in PDI - wouldn’t go anywhere else now. We’ve had both the courtyard and the higher level rooms. Only difference we saw was in the bathrobes and slippers provided higher up !!

We're currently staying at Gold and have a fifth floor Superior Junior suite. It's absolutely lovely. We can see the sea from our balcony and also have a view over the courtyard area and upper terrace. We'd definitely stay again.

It's really nice, got a cosmopolitan feel to it. We just found it lacked atmosphere late afternoon and evening. We now go Airbnb as so much cheaper and no breakfast police around when you want to take it back to your room to eat on your balcony and enjoy views. We've stayed at some lovely places and great supermarkets around to get provisions if you want to make your own food.

If you want a day by the pool then you need to get up early to get the spot which is in the sun all day or you'll be moving beds as the sun goes around. We're beach goers so only a problem when it was too windy to go.

It's just what we prefer now.

However, We are going to Caterina in November though as a treat. We prefer it there as there it has atmosphere and a naked roof terrace if it's a windy day. The adult rooms are bigger, plush and have great views.

Again it our preference and it would be a boring world if we were all the same.
