A swingers' guide to Fuerteventura

We see many posts in the forum, on the one hand asking about swinging advice on the beautiful island of Fuerteventura, and on the other suggesting that Fuerteventura is a swingers' paradise.

As we have been (swinging) residents of the island for the past seven years we thought it might be useful if we gave our view of the swinging scene here:

1. There are NO meeting places, swingers' bars, swinging clubs or hotels anywhere on the island. There are a few naturist hotels but these are strictly naturist and no more.

2. All the beautiful white sand beaches, except for some of the town beaches, are clothing optional. Most naturists are found at the edges of the family oriented and 'textile' sections of the beaches, though this still gives you many miles of beach to choose from.

3. People claim there is a lot of swinging activity around the lagoons of El Cotillo or the dunes south of the Riu hotels outside Corralejo. We, personally, have never seen any play in the former. In the dunes there is a little but, for example, we are there just now and all we can see are many gay male couples and the occasional single male meerkat. There is not another woman in sight.

4. If you want a meet whilst in Fuerteventura the best bet is to use the 'Who's Near' facility on Fab. You might be lucky. We were once with a lovely Canarian guy.

In other words Fuerteventura is pretty much a swinging desert. If you want a great swinging experience try Gran Canaria (Maspalomas/PDI) or Cap d'Agde instead. But if you want a great laid back holiday with glorious beaches, hours of sun (and some wind!), and endless opportunities to get naked try Fuerteventura. With the help of Fab you can always make your own entertainment.

We have had a few lovely meets using the whos near facility, both in El Cotillo & Corralejo, will be there early feb, but agree with the orginal post of if you want clubs etc then Gran Canaria may be the Island of choice. We love fuerte for its chilled vibe and beautiful beaches, playing is a bonus

Yes, playing is very much a bonus, a rarity and needs discretion cf GC. But we have played 3 or 4 times every holiday in both Cotillo and way south of the gay beach area in the Dunes. Germans, Italians and Dutch swing too. Played Usually very late in the day and totally in private. Discretion and respect is essential. Mrs loves to be near the gay area, as then you have near zero hassle from Meerkats! So many quiet spots. Our very favourite place. But defo not PDI. !! Out this February and March. Always good to chat and meet.

The other side to the story is who actually wants to play on currently very sea-y and biting fly ridden beaches when much more comfortable surroundings are just 5 minutes walk away?

Completely private terrace, sumptuous beds, toys, ice cold drinks and you don't feel you're meerkat wank fodder!

Are the stone circles in Cotillo still a thing, or have they all been knocked down ? Keep reading conflicting stories about them ! Particularly interested in the ones up beyond the lighthouse along the bumpy track towards the beach where you see all the surfers heading, anyone's help would be appreciated

North of La Concha beach the stone circles are all still there.

Between the village and La Concha they have been removed and signs are in place explaining that it is an offence to build them there.

All still intact to the right of the lighthouse, as you approach it, (on the back road to Majanicho and Corralejo).

You should have a great time. The weather, unusually, isn't great here this week. Feel sorry for the holidaymakers. By April the weather will be great again.

Good advice, thanks for spending time to put this together. I was in Correlejo in August last year and already booked again for first two weeks of August this year.

Personally I just love getting naked and sunbathing as much as swinging, so it suits me down to the ground.

I've been to fuerteventura many times. Always stay in coralejo as its modern, busy, vibrant but very chilled at the same time. Bus service is reliable and cheap. Taxis are plentiful. If your fit fantastic beaches are within walking distance where naturism is plentiful. Have to add on all of my visits whether as a single male or as part of a male/female couple I have always seen sexual play going on somewhere. Anywhere from edge of town all the way south past the riu hotels. Yeah it's discreet but we were there October gone and a couple were openly having sex near the waters edge. I gave him a thumbs up after they had finished as we went for a swim. I just think warm sunny days, fantastic beaches, naked people and action will happen.

Isn't that just voyeurism/exhibitionism? It's not 'swinging' is it?

Unfortunately the weather isn't great at the moment - quite cool (18-20C), cloudy and intermittent rain. Hopefully it will clear up soon.

Exactly. There's NO gay area. It's our observation that the dunes a mile or so south of the Riu hotels that many on Fab have claimed are great for swingers are mainly populated by male couples and single men (voyeurs) hoping to catch a glimpse of action. That being said you'd be lucky to find more than ten or twenty people sunbathing in the stone circles.

Not when you learn to divorce nudity from sexual 'action'.

That's an extremely puerile way of thinking. While some swingers are naturists the vast majority of naturists are not swingers. Misunderstanding that is just asking for trouble.

Yep. This exactly, we don't "play" on the beach as sand in delicate places is fecking painful. The occasional HJ or picture pose between ourselves is as far as we go on the beach.... now back in the hot tub at the Barcelo... that's a different matter

I love it. A hand job on the beach is ok but anything else is a no no. You couldn't make it up. Puerile, great word. Must Google it then again....... I've been going to fuerte for thirty years. I know what I know. I've seen many things on the beaches over there. Most discreet, some not so discreet. Oct gone some days it was very difficult to actually find an empty rock circle. The place was very busy with excellent weather. Hardly any wind all week. We witnessed all things sexual going on. The more remote the more weird and wonderful it was.

We have found that there is always quite a lot going on in the stone castles nearest corralejo, notice we call them castles instead of circles because it's usually German people we have met there and that's what they call them haha. Four out of five encounters are single males though.

some are very larger erections lol. Approx eight years ago I went on my own for a week. In the location just past what used to be the naturist hotel I met a single German woman and we had a little fun. Also got talking to a couple from Kent. Early one morning I was at the beach bt 9am , walking about, a little swimming and got talking to a woman from York. Again more fun ensued. Then bizarrely I bumped into a guy who shops in my local tescos!! I love the place. All the people on here who discuss the difference between a swinger or naturist make me laugh. I've sunbathed nude since I was eighteen years old. I've been on a lot of naturist beaches at home and abroad, either as a single bloke or as a couple and I've always seen sex going on in one form or another. I can't imagine any bloke sunbathing naked on a hot beach would turn down the chance of a bit of fun if offered. "Genuine" naturist or not. Sex makes the world go around and if your not causing harm or offence then enjoy cos you never know when it will be all over! P.s. its not just guys either. Last year on two separate visits to fuerteventura we had two ladies on two separate occasions wanting to get to know us better if you get my meaning. One was half our age. A little stunner but we're mainly into just playing together these days.

Do the folk that report on what happens (or doesn't happen) and where in these hundreds of stone circles/castles/pods in Fuerteventura really walk around all day checking them? Or is it done by drone?

We see many guys meandering from edifice to edifice along the beach. Never seen a m/f couple doing so.

The funniest thing is when they are so occupied ogling other men's wives that they fail to notice the big stone they are about to trip over!

Comedy gold.

One of the problems if you come regularly can be the more persistent sex pests, like blue baseball cap Carl from south wales , maybe Barry. If they catch you once, even years ago, they never give up. It’s the game I guess for them, but if you to be “caught” or watched, be advised that every naturist beach has its stalkers. We know three in cotillo, here every day, wandering circle to circle. It’s a thought that meeting peeps from here only will give you happier holidays in the long term. Husbands with fantasies be advised!!! Be cautuious. There always a Carl about!!!

We love the place, usually 2 weeks in PDI and then a flight to Fuerteventura for a final week as a calm down from PDI.

We've always had meets from either pre planned or see who's near.

Totally agree with OP, no swingers bars or clubs, you don't need them, just plan to meet in a bar, if they are a no show, its still a great night in a bar.

Great post and like the rest, 100% agree with the excellent original post after asking the same questions a few years ago ourselves.

Now think having no formal meeting on points or clubs is a massive bonus.

But do have the who's near option or the forums if you want to reach out and arrange a Fab meet/social while visiting.

We're back to El Cotillo for a couple of weeks from the end of Feb/March ourselves and can't wait.

Big birthday for the wife and she wanted a couple of weeks back in El Cotillo, with a couple of night in Corralejo to break it up.

Sure we've seen this Carl guy (tall, with a cap and very proud of his package?) a few times.

Looked a little touched in the head to us, always strutting up and down the lagoons.

Didn't realise he could turn nasty/aggressive (not in keeping with the Fuertie vibe), will definitely be keeping an eye out for him when we're there and keeping clear.

Luckily noticed the regular/local couples and singles all seem clued up, very friendly, a few happy to chat or break the ice and do keep an eye out for eachother around the lagoons whenever we've been.

We've always felt very safe and met some lovely people using the who's near.

Always a nice bonus, to go the beach or for drinks/meal with like minded chilled people.

Counting down the days.....

Is that the same tall, well defined, seems to be, local guy who parades around Correlejo trying to attract admiring glances from the ladies.

Seems to be a simple soul as he does seem oblivious to the smirks and smiles as he passes by with his unusual superman quiff and his stick on smile.

Thought he was harmless but think he could do some damage if turned nasty. Never seen him around the dunes in El Cotillo but did encounter another guy who initially didn't seem happy we didn't want him to join us, a Spanish guy in a white car. But we've never had any problems with the single guys who wander around and found most of them to be quite pleasant if you have a quick chat with them.

But we've never had any problems with the single guys who wander around and found most of them to be quite pleasant if you have a quick chat with them."

No idea, probably thinking about different people.

The guys we've spotted a few times has only been in El Cotillo lagoons.

Looks a little bit like the bald guy Michael Berryman from the movie "The Hills Have Eyes" but with a cap and naked.

"Is that the same tall, well defined, seems to be, local guy who parades around Correlejo trying to attract admiring glances from the ladies.

Seems to be a simple soul as he does seem oblivious to the smirks and smiles as he passes by with his unusual superman quiff and his stick on smile.

So let me get this right a single guy can't go to a naturist beach without being called a "Meerkat" or a perver

Don't think its a nice term but some guys don't help themselves.

I would advise single guys to at least say "good morning, lovely day" or something just as banal rather than hovver past with a sideways glance.

We try to engage with single guys on the beach, they either reply or run away.

Agree anytime i met couples on these type of beaches I smiled said hello and continued on .Manners is cheap if a couple were interested i would leave it to them to engage in conversation if not I could continue on my merry way

One particular no no is when a single guy (or married one on walkabout from other half) waltzes up to you on the beach and says I recognise you two from your photos. He hasn't got any on his profile, of course! It's both creepy and unacceptable. Stick to your I-Spy on the beach books.

So if as a single guy..found you at the beach smile to you. Greet you..and ask you if you need some extra company..on the sand it will be acceptable...

It would be totally acceptable as long as you are happy to receive a "no thanks, rather be by ourselves but thanks for asking" and you'd be happy to move on.

A vanilla question: do many of the naturist beaches have loungers and parasols for hire, like in PDI? Thanks.

The furthest loungers south from the two Riu hotels on Grandes Playas (Corralejo) were often used by naturists

"We see many posts in the forum, on the one hand asking about swinging advice on the beautiful island of Fuerteventura, and on the other suggesting that Fuerteventura is a swingers' paradise.

"

I'm going there for my 50th and I'm being treated by my cucks wife who I have been with for 15+years
