We used to stay there a lot.

The naked terrace is a nice addition, unfortunately you have to go down to the bar to get drinks but that didn't worry us. The refit if the roof was just beginning last time we stayed so can't comment on the difference.

The rooms are fantastic, very comfy beds

The food is standard all inclusive with different themes each night. We never went hungry.

Location is unbeatable, a couple of minutes to either Cita or the dunes.

We never really used the pools but there are quite a lot of kids around.

One block was refurbished and private pools or jaccuzis added but we don't think they offer good value and although they are "private" they are very open to other people to look so no nakedness.

We started staying in a privately rented apartment now as we prefer to eat in the various fantastic restaurants and cook out own cornflakes in the mornings

Hopefully you won't be disappointed

We’re staying here just now. It’s the first time we’ve tried all inclusive and in a non-adults only hotel. We paid extra for an adults only floor which is conveniently located beside the solarium.

There are a lot of positives about the hotel. Rooms are super comfy and clean. The staff are generally very nice. The food is better than ok - plenty of variety. Great location for Cita, the beach etc

Overall, we’ve decided it’s not for us. We’re pretty easy going folk but it’s not chilled enough for us.

Meal times are like a battle zone - it’s very person for themselves! There have been lots of niggly issues such as it took over a day to get a kettle in the room and obtain beach towels as they kept running out. Our keys stopped working and after three fairly long trips up and down to reception and waiting for 30 mins for someone to come and fix it the issue was resolved. I think the staff are overrun.

The noise from the daily family entertainment is pretty loud and we’ve only been in the pool once as there doesn’t seem to be a good time of day to have a dip without it being complete chaos (unless it’s before 9am).

Kids have been running along adult only floors and on to the solarium which is not great - couldn’t imagine if someone was getting a little fruity and kids burst on to the rooftop!

The biggest issue for us is the amount of families - maybe it’s the time of year with school holidays?. We think the hotel needs to decide who they are aiming at as catering for many audiences is diluting what it could be.

Hope this helps and we truly hope you don’t find what we’ve experienced.

We've stayed there and couldn't fault the hotel at all BUT we would definitely class it as a family hotel. If we were to stay in a hotel again(we use Airbnb's mostly) we would definitely choose an Adults only hotel

Thank you everyone for the most recent updates on the hotel .

As this will be our 3rd visit to the Abora we pretty much know what we are letting ourselves in for but it’s great to hear how others are finding it since it’s had it revamp .

We generally visit the Abora in May or November ,so we can definitely confirm the hotel is very much less populated with children or family’s during these months and we would definitely recommend avoiding any all inclusive hotel in GC during the summer holidays or half Term !. …..we like children ,just not on our holiday !lol…..

We've staying at Catarina on our last 3 visits and love the place. There again 17-26 Nov.

Although it's a family hotel alot of swingers do stay there, as it's really close to Cita centre.

Close to beaches too.

We've stayed at the abora a few times. It always worked for us having the naked roof terrace.

The family pool was always busy and those people that wanted some peace used the quiet pool.

Since the refurbishment, they have put a large flume ride in the quiet pool.

We found that textile people were coming onto the roof terrace for the peace and quiet.

The sunbeds were already difficult to get but with even more people it was near on impossible to get a bed unless you got up early.

This has happened now for our last 2 or 3 visits, so we now go elsewhere.

We stayed at the Caterina in Mid September and wouldn't go back, lovely staff but definitely not 4 star in our opinion but close to everything. Back in march staying in an adults only bungalow near the cita. Can't wait. X

The naked sun terrace, has that led to any discreet playing? Or is that a big No ?

I was there when it led to some not so discreet playing and the manager was far from impressed. Towards the end of the day has potential but take it back to your room…

Your right , flirting etc and being discreet with any touching, but thereafter go back to your room. Otherwise I would assume the hotel management would take a dim view of any overt sexual activity.

We've played quite a lot up there over the years. But have always been discreet. Usually late afternoon, mostly swingers up there anyway but still need to be discreet

HL Suites hotel in PDI is a adults only hotel

Brilliant naked sun terrace too

A large hotel very popular with swingers

Can be expensive to book at times though but worth every penny
