Hi All,
We're thinking of going, maybe later this year but wondering about some of the finer details.
Is PDI like one massive swinger experience- or is it possible to stay in the area and not even realise?
Is it just an area that has a few clubs in the same vicinity- or are the hotels and the general area for the broadminded.
I suppose what we want is a nice daytime vanilla time - not too Brits Abroad..a bit of culture innit.
Then in the evening venture to a club or 2.
With that in mind, would you recommend staying in PDI or just venturing in during the evening?

It's very possible to go on holiday to PDI and not realise it's a popular swingers resort. Most of the couples there will be non swingers, most of the hotels are like normal hotels. You can be very vanilla in the day then have a night at a swinging club. |

Hi OP, best advice to be given is, read the Spain Forum regarding PDI, alot of opinions and thoughts on there
Look at the profiles of the bars and clubs here, read them and the veris they have, check out Club Reviews as well where applicable
Also, there is a Guide To PDI, which can be downloaded in PDF format and read in your own time, its a bit out of date (some bars and clubs have closed and re-opened as other bars) but pretty much will give you a good idea of the places
Most of all if you do come here, go everywhere and try everywhere, if you don't like don't go back if you do like it go back

So…. You’ll get a whole load of different answers, all depending on what people want/don’t want and like/don’t like….. and non are right or wrong .
We’ve been several times and are going again this Oct. I’d say it wasn’t until our 3rd visit that we finally ‘got it right’ in a way that gives us the experience we want…. And even then we tweak bits each time we go back.
For us nailing down the accomodation we like was the key. Once we got that right in terms of hotel, location etc the rest was like any other holiday, you can kinda do as much or as little as you want.
Ultimately go give it a go

If you don't go to the Cita centre you would never guess TBH. Even then if you arrive before 9-10pm the Cita will just come across as a very german orientated area. After 10pm it becomes much more apparent.
The overwhelming majority (excluding the abundance of gay/single sex hotels of course) of hotels are just normal holiday type hotels with some having nudest rooftop areas. PDI is popular with nudists due to the massive nudist beach.
PDI was built almost from scratch in the 70's and so you may have to travel for "a bit of culture innit." (We always make a trip on a saturday afternoon to Vecindario to visit a craft brewery there and at least once a week to Las Palmas for a walk around the more historic sites. Buses are cheap, plentiful and comfortable. |
