Left GC on Thursday, the new biometrics border control are an absolute joke, our plane was delayed by 30 mins due to passengers held up in the queue, anyone else experienced this???

Heathrowish

The problems appear to be that the technology hasn't lived up to the aspiration.

We flew through Orly Airport in Paris a couple of months ago and after the first 6 passengers, the authorities saw the slow admissions and reverted back to traditional methods to avoid queues forming.

I arrived and had no delay, the staff were all sitting down, jumped up to help as they saw passengers approaching and no problem. I was dreading it and was really impressed how smooth it was. Friday 6th, and the Edinburgh flight arrived about 2pm and no issues at all.
