We are going to Fuerteventura in September and thinking of hiring a Car for the 2 weeks from a desk in main airport terminal.
Can anyone tell me their experience of doing this and whether it was easy driving out of and back into the Airport complex?
Many thanks. |

Definitely hire a car to explore and also getting to some of the best beaches.
We always use Autoreisen and book online.
All inclusive car hire and no hidden charges when you pick the car up or drop off.
Just bring back with the same level of file (normally full to full).
They have a kiosk in the airport, just as your turn left out of the arrivals/baggage claim.
Highly recommend as never had an issue and really well priced.
Alternatively Cicar are great too and the next kiosk along (but they tend to have much longer cues when picking up the car)
We're back for a couple of weeks on Saturday and again in July, pre-booked cars with them for both trips |

I highly recommend CICAR... no hiden fees.... full insurance.... best price/quality.... I suggest you to hire the car online... and just get the keys and sign contract on the desk.... CICAR have a desk in every airport in the Canary islands... |

Autoreisen, but they didn't have any cars available in Gran Canaria in December or January 🤷♂️
Take out a personal insurance policy it's only about £50 a year to avoid paying ridiculous excess protection to rental companies. There's one with an app that you use to take photos of the car before and after called icarhire |

We are over end of March, looking at car hire so the tip for Reisin is good. Looking for all in price as well. I normally use this one

They are fully inclusive and very easy to deal with |

In Spain, it's the car that is insured, not the driver, so any additional money paid over is just additional profit. We own a car in Spain, anyone over 21 can drive it insured with permission. |

Another one for Autoreisen here. The cars are adequate and the budget options are small sheds that aren't ideal if you want to do the full island but overall they're fine.
You're there for 2 weeks but you don't say where you're staying. If you're staying in the north book a night down south and take on the road to Cofete beach, if you're brave enough (ignore the doom mongers who are going to tell you you're not insured). For the trip north take the west coast through La Pared and Ajuj and towards either El Cotillo or Corralejo. It's a great day trip.
Whoever you book your rental with don't hang around, the cheaper options are very much in demand.
