"What's peoples experiences of getting through the airports EES, exit, entry system?"
Used it a few times, bit of a faff sometimes as it seems to take all your information, screen tells you to proceed and then you are turned back at the barrier to do it all again, same things happen and needs an officer to allow you through.
Seems to happen to me, Paul straight through.
When leaving to come back home give enough time as its the usual check cases in, through security, through duty free and you think its just wait in the longe to board plane but you still have to locate the machine to do the checks and that's what people are missing and then delays happen.
Got caught out in Lanzarote, almost missed the plane and we had sat in departure lounge thinking we had done all the checks etc, our fault.
Give loads of time is our best advice.

Malaga is a breeze now. Got it sorted but it's taken 6 months. Would allow extra time on home trip especially if your checking in cases as most are automated and people haven't got a clue how to operate them. No luggage 90 minutes before flight is plenty. |

We went to gran canaria in May and when landing at las Palmas we where passed from pillar to post cos hubby's passport would t work......took bloody ages

At Las Palmas airport for departure they will use any old gate to get you through the system early. They then often change the gate later but don't make announcements. So it's a good idea to keep an eye on the boards to make sure your gate doesn't change. |

Only used it once at Málaga . No problem. First you go to a machine to be registered. There were dozens of them. Your passport is scanned , your fingers are scanned and your face is photographed. About a minute .Then you pass onto the electronic entry section to exit airport same machines but this time you just get passport scanned and face photographed to check against the ones you just registered.
On the way back there were about 20 to 3o passport check machines at the entry to the gate.. when I was there I was the only one going through again your passport gets scanned and face photographed...walk though ..less than 30 seconds.
Biggest hold up was returning to Cardiff where they only had about 6 machines...of which half didn't seem to be working so queue was building so was directed to be checked by a human.
