Weather should be ok 21-24° in day cooler at night.

Only one thing with tc going bust other tour companies have added upto 20% on their prices . We were looking at new year from 29th till 4th but holiday price gone from 660 to 800 half board. Also there is now less flights available

We go every year for Xmas and new year and we spend most days on the beach at K4. We always go home with a canny tan as well. Evenings can get a little cooler so a shawl is good for the ladies on their walk of shame home after the clubs...

And yeah, it's a busy time in PDI. Lots of Fabbers..

We are there for New Year and will be at the Yumbo at midnight for spectacular fireworks.

Remember that the sun sets earlier in December - around 6pm - so the nights are longer!!

There isn’t really anywhere else that is warmer in Europe over winter than the Canaries. You have to start heading to Asia or the Americas and that’s a very long flight and other additional things to find warmer weather.

It is warm in the daytimes (in the South) particularly nice for walking etc. Warm if you are in any location shielded from the colder breezes one gets everywhere (unless you head nearer the equator) at this time of year. At night it’s chilly enough for sure (12 degree etc) but a jacket is sufficient. Sunset is about 6.20pm.

I have a property here so I am familiar with the seasons. If you are driving (use a Garmin satnav as they have best mapped the island, the drivesmart 65 digital Europe maps are very good) around inland will be chilly and wet some days particularly as you go higher and the North is generally cloudy and damp over winter. It’s nice to do Xmas shopping in the North about 12 euro return from the south takes 1 hour if going by bus.

The beaches in the south feel nice and warm throughout winter as long as you shelter yourself from the winds when sunbathing. You will get a tan and or burn easily throughout winter. I have found the south of Gran Canaria to be the warmest of the islands over winter and I have lived on all of the main islands. Head to Mogan if you find it too windy in PDI, it’s often less so there and the beach small and sheltered better.

There are other more sheltered beaches where you feel warmer in Winter along the west of the island. Easy drives and also buses run.

The ocean is cold around the Canaries in Winter. You have to go to Asia or far south Middle East for warmer water over winter but then the currents are often very strong and seas a bit murky there.

I have lived all over the world and the best climate in winter (Nov - Jan) (not too hot, wet, humid, polluted, and ease to get to and from in emergencies etc ) tends to be the Canaries which is why it remains their high season.
