This story is completely true and goes back to the late 1990s when I was in my 20s. Sophie my mate Bob's girlfriend was 18. A situation I'm not proud of but it happened anyway.
A group of us used to go out on a Saturday night around town and we'd usually all end up back at mine as I lived near the town centre. The following week we all went out in town again, Bob and Sophie were there too. Although she was just 18 they were already living together. At the end of the evening we all went back to mine this time and I went to the kitchen to get some beer from the fridge while everyone else made themselves comfortable in the lounge. We visited a couple more pubs as the evening went on before we headed into the street to see in the new year in sight and sound of the town hall clock.
