Lily was late, she slurped her tea and spread butter on her toast as she wiggled into her work clothes. It wouldn’t do to be late today, it was her first day, she needed to make a good impression. She had made sure her uniform was ready the night before, so it was just a case of putting on the crisp white shirt and buttoning it up, sliding her legs into the corse navy surge trousers, she had put her favourite pink lacy pants on today, for luck and to make her feel nice underneath the standard issue uniform. Her bra was just standard beige, would not do having a pink one on to match her pants, it would show anyway under the white shirt and that was not the impression she wanted to create today. The pink pants were for her, and her alone.
Grabbing the toast and car keys Lily headed out of the door and off to work.
Arriving at the car park, Lily saw the bay with her name on it, she drove her mini into the space allocated to her. L. Jones. Commander. Wow it felt good to see her name and that she had her own allocated space. Made her wish that maybe she should have found the time yesterday to wash her car, being black it showed the dust and well, it wasn’t clean. Lily shrugged, it was about her not her car.
Lily, opened the car door and swung her long legs out, stood up and exited the car. She stood for a few minutes looking at the building in front of her, that’s where she was heading, her first day as the commander, the person in charge of the whole building and of course responsibility for the people that worked inside. Lily tugged her shirt straight and clipped on her black tie, moved and shut the car door. Here goes she thought as she walked across towards the main doors to the building.
Lily was met at the entrance by Ben, he introduced himself as the senior officer on that day. He welcomed Lily, showed her to her office.
‘if you want to pop your stuff in here, Ill take you round and show you where to get a brew’
Ben and Lily walked through the station, Ben happily pointing out the incident prints on the walls and explaining what happened and the dates of each incident. Lily was impressed by his knowledge and that he was very passionate about what had happened to create each picture.
They walked through a lounge area, with sofa seating, Ben pointed out the door to the corner,
‘that’s where the pole drop is ‘ he told her
They pushed through the double doors into the ‘kitchen’ area, as the doors opened Lily looked up, straight into the blue eyes of the guy she had spent the previous 12 hours fucking . Those blue eyes hardened a little in surprise, as did Lily’s green ones. She gave herself no time to register what she had seen, her stomach jumped and she turned to Ben.
‘so who is the best pool player’ she commented making a gesture towards the pool table at the other end of the room.
Ben smiled, and pointed out two of the people sat and standing over the serving hatch to the kitchen area of the room.
‘guys whos the best player?’
A tall blonde female head popped from the other side of the servery.
‘they gotta beat me yet to get that title’ she said
‘meet Rosa, the stations Pool champion’
Lily smiled at Rosa and the conversation flowed around her pool ability and how good she was, and about how great it was for a woman to keep these guys in their place. Lily was aware of his eyes in the back of her head, he was watching her. She was trying to work out who he was in this.
Ben introduced the team. Green watch and Lily said hello to the crew individually as they were named to her. They came to him, it was inevitable that they would be introduced, Ben was working through the room. And he was now infront of her. She looked again into those deep blue eyes, now with a slightly amused expression in them.
Ben turned
‘Jack Logan met Lily Jones, our new Commander – Lily, Jack is the crew commander’
Lily shook the hand that was offered to her and mumbled her hello, she looked away and took her hand back quickly. She mutter something to Ben about grabbing a brew and heading to her office to make a start.
Rose appeared with a coffee, and pointed out where the sugar or sweetners were if Lily wanted them. Lily shook her head, thanked Rose for the coffee and headed out of the kitchen area back towards her office.
Her head was a little flustered as entered her office and put her coffee on her desk. She had no time to think about what had happened, she had some work to be doing.
About an hour later there was a tap on the open office door, Lily looked up and instantly reddened as she looked straight into the eyes of Jack Logan ! she now had his name!.
‘ I wanted to say hi’ he said
‘ to address the elephant in the room’
Lily looked at her laptop, trying to gather her thoughts. Yep this was a conversation that needed to be had
‘come in, push the door to’
‘ there is no elephant, you and I met a few nights ago and that’s it, this is now and this is work. You can address me as Lily and I am your senior officer. As long as we both remember that and act accordingly there will be no issues. The past remains there, you and I have a work relationship.’
Jack smiled, ‘ if that is how you want it to go, that’s fine by me’
Lily looked back at her laptop ‘yes that is how it is, thank you for stopping by to clear this up’
Lily continued to type, she was flustered inside and trying not to show it, what she was actually typing she had no bloody idea, it looked better to appear busy, to dismiss him and he would go away and she could focus on what she was supposed to be doing. Being flustered on the 1st day was not the start she had intended. Lily heard a movement and looked up. Jack was still there looking at her, those blue eyes still had that smirk in them, god it was sexy.
Lily stood up, moved round to the front of her desk. She sat on the edge of the front of the desk, legs lazily crossed in front of her. ‘Jack, is there something that I have missed?’ Jack looked at her, a slight smile on his lips, ‘nope, I think you have made it clear, well your words have made it clear where you think this stands’ Jack took a slight step forward. Lily’s attempt at slouching on the front of the desk failed, she jumped up quickly and moved towards the door. Jack was heading for the door at the same time. She could feel his body close to her’s, she could smell him. Her heart pounding in her chest, Lily reached for the door handle, at the same time as Jack reached.
Their hands touched, it was a like an electric shock to Lily, she jumped to the side and pulled her hand away sharply. She looked up, straight into those blue eyes, the pupils were dilated, he had felt it too. They were both breathing hard, Lily turned back towards the door, which was still closed. Jack’s hand went over the top of her’s and he gently turned her to face him. He was taller than Lily, at 5’8 she was a good height for a woman, but he was taller, she could sense him closer, her hand encased in his, her arm tingling. She looked at his chest, his blue polo shirt, the service logo over the right breast. Her spare hand reached out and touched the logo, she couldn’t stop herself. Jack pulled her to him, Lily grasped. Both of her hands were now in his, and on his chest, she knew he was close, she knew that if she looked up his soft pink lips would be there, warm, ready and very kissable.
Lily braced her self against him, she turned her hands in his so her palms were on his chest. She could not resist a slight stroke of what she knew was hidden underneath.
She pushed him slightly away from her, to give herself some space to look up, and as she raised her head she felt his breath and his lips come to claim hers.
The knock on the door broke them apart. Lily jumped back, brushed the front of her shirt, looked straight into Jack’s eyes ‘Come in’ she called. Lily turned and walked towards her desk, ‘If that is all then Jack, I will make sure things are worked out and get back to you’
Lily turned her attention to the figure walking into the room, ‘Rosa hello, what can I do for you’ she said to the tall blonde entering the room. ‘sorry Jack I didn’t realise you were here’ , ‘Im just leaving’ Jack said as he moved to walk past Rosa. Lily noticed Rosa’s hand lightly touch Jack as he walked past, she noticed Rosa look into his eyes with a slight smile on her lips.
Jack left the room and Rosa turned to Lily.
