Another Tinder Meet

I've posted before on some of my adventures while travelling with work so thought I'd write about a meet last week while it was still fresh in my mind. Anything is quotes below is exactly from our tinder conversation late one evening.
I was in Florida with work. Busy days but with a few hours free in the evenings I was looking for some action. Fab doesn't have many members in the US so I've always found Tinder the best place to find a meet and this trip was no exception.
I was browsing one evening for a while and wasn't getting any matches so had nearly given up for the night and was getting ready for bed. People generally go to bed early in Florida so there's little late night action. One last check of the phone around 11pm and there was a match - she was looking for short term fun and looked to be local.Sounded promising.
"Hi there- thanks for the match"
"Hi _nowdrift"
"Are you a Florida girl?"
"I live here, yes"
"I'm visiting from Ireland"
"Looks from your location you are pretty close to me right now" came the response
"Yes I'm staying in a hotel in Palm Beach"
"I'm at Dive Bar....not too far from you. Have you been before?"
Googles quickly - it's ten minutes away
"Oh so you're close. Looking to meet tonight?" Might as well ask!!!
"Coming out tonight?"
"I could be tempted" said I
"Dive Bar. Google it. It's in Jupiter"
"Ok I see it. I'm ten minutes away. Give me a few minutes to get ready and I'll be on my way"
"See you soon"
I'm out of bed in a shot. Quick freshen up. Jeans, clean tshirt, some aftershave, grab my keys and I'm out the door.
"On my way now L. There in about ten minutes"
"Hurry"
and then another message
"The wolves are circling"
If I needed any more encouragement to rush over the chance of another guy taking away my opportunity was enough to encourage me.......

It’s always when you’re in a hurry that you seem to hit every red light. But the drive was pretty straightforward and I pulled up at the car park of the bar about ten minutes later.
Took another look at the Tindet profile to see who I was looking to meet. Mid 40’s blonde, shortish hair, 5’ 5” per her profile. Looked to be about a size 10/12 with lovely eyes and smile.
I wandered into Dive bar which had one of those circular bars in the middle of the room with people seated around the bar and another few people dotted in tables around the room. I went right as there seemed a few ladies seated that direction. One caught my eye but no not her. Circled back the other direction past a few couples that seemed to be deep in conversation and checked out the people at the tables. No blondes there. I turned and headed back towards the door and passing one of the couples the lady looked up and said
“Snowdrift?” Yes I said and she replied “Rescue me!!” I moved towards the seat the other side of her, reached in for a hug saying “ “ Great to see you again”. (Reckoning I’d a better chance at shaking her suitor if he thought we knew each other) and was met with a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek in reply.

My rival now confined to playing with his beermat I took a better look at L. She looked just like her pictures which is always a good start with the apps. Dressed casually in jeans and sweater. Nicely tanned and lovely smile with great teeth ( I later found out she is a dentist) I ordered both of us a drink as we started chatting.
She had recently moved to Florida after a divorce and was looking to meet guys just for fun as she had been with one guy for too long. I seemed be making a good impression while we chatted as she took my hand in hers. I leaned in for my first kiss and she responded passionately - like we weren’t in a half empty bar - wrapping her arms around me and pulling me in close. She told me she loved public displays of affection.
It became obvious fairly quickly that we’d be doing more than kissing. She wanted more than just my Irish charm and kisses. She asked where I was staying and put it into her phone. As we finished our drinks she said let’s get out of here. “I’ll meet you in the car park of your hotel” Not a bad invitation 30 minutes after meeting her 😍 |
