The Meeting
The summer sun cast a golden glow over Varna Airport as I stood behind the travel agency counter, guiding travelers through the usual chaos of last-minute changes and anxious questions. It was a familiar rhythm, one I knew well—until she walked in.
She moved with a quiet elegance that made the busy terminal seem to slow down for a moment. Her eyes held a distant sadness, as if carrying the weight of stories untold. I noticed she was using our agency, a regular customer perhaps, but I’d never seen her before.
When she approached the counter, our eyes met briefly, and something sparked—a subtle tension that was impossible to ignore. I greeted her warmly, helping with her booking details. Our conversation began with the usual questions about flights and connections, but quickly shifted.
“I’m traveling alone this time,” she said softly, almost as if confessing a secret. “Without my husband.”
There was a vulnerability in her voice that pulled at me. I sensed she wasn’t just on a simple trip—she was searching for something different, something beyond the everyday.
Over the next few days, our paths crossed again and again. She’d stop by the agency under the pretense of checking details, but our conversations grew longer, filled with shared smiles and lingering glances. The air between us thickened with unspoken desire.
Each encounter was a quiet promise—a silent invitation to something more. And I knew, deep down, this was the beginning of a story neither of us could resist.
