This is a 98% true story. I have only embellished it slightly to make it flow a little better.

Most of the guests had arrived by 8:15, I opened the door to them and Emma took their coats and hung them up in the closet in the hall.

We worked out way through 3 courses clearing away and keeping everyone topped up.
By the dessert course some of the guests got a bit braver and would stroke Emma and I as we were serving

Apologies for the delay.
After dessert Emma & I served Coffee and then Tara said that she and her guest were retiring to the lounge to watch a little TV and We were to join them and serve Brandies etc after we had cleared away.
Emma and I cleared the plates and then collected a tray each with glasses that had already been set out. Earlier on we had been shown the drinks cabinet that was in the lounge where the guests were now residing.
As we entered the lounge Dave, Taras partner passed us on the way out and dissapeared up the hall.
For the next few minutes we circulated around the guests serving whatever tipple they wanted.
Someone then shouted up, come on Tara get the TV on lets get the show moving prompting Tara to search out the remote and turn it on. It started with some run of the mill saturday evening program but then she began to flick through settling on a sight which took my breath away.
