Hotels Preston/Bolton areas?

Hi all

Does anyone know of any hotels in the Preston or Bolton area that you can just book a room for the day on arrival? Eg. Early morning check in, if that makes sense.

Previously I have booked a room over 2 nights so we can use the room from early morning onwards and leave late afternoon, this however sounds daft I know.
