Hey people! I know it’s not the best time for it but I’ve been very keen on trying out like swings clubs/party type things. Again I know there isn’t going to be much chance for this anytime soon but I just wanted to chat to some folk about it and get like some helpful tips and info about it all for when I can give it a bash!

Yeah it’s going to be a wee while. But I’m just more curious on how it all works if I’m honest. I presume there are usually guidelines that are given beforehand or something?

Lots of clubs have guides on their websites. The general approach is to not have any expectations, and go looking to socialize.

When things are back to normal try a local social.

Chat to people like you would in a pub.

Don't ask questions of a too personal nature like address, jobs, kids etc.

Ask how long been in scene, clubs they have been to, holidays.

Never, ever presume to touch or expect play.

As a couple it took some time to get private party invites.

Just put yourself about, doesn't take too long for people to get to know your face.

Just be yourself, unless you're a complete knob, then try to be someone else.

Treat it as a social night out without expectations of play. Club's will give new guests a tour & explain their rules, although a lot is just basic common sense & a bit of respect for people.

For house parties you should turn up early, socialise and watch what everyone else does before joining in any play activities. Turning up early should allow you to have the chance to strike up a conversation with someone who is more experienced and ask for hints and tips. Most parties will last a minimum of around 4 hours so you should have plenty of time to get the information you need.

As a virgin to swinger's clubs and took the plunge and joined my local club xtasia and went along I was a bit apprehensive but the owners and staff were great had a guided tour although no sexual contact were allowed met and chatted to some nice people some areas were a bit clicky but that's to be expected but overall was made to feel welcome
