Before coming to fab where was the first place you looked for like minded people
Excluding bdsm sites my first place was Craigslist personals before they closed down
Had some fun meets off there including my first male on male oral meet as a sissy
Under my old profile here actually reconnected with someone I met via Craigslist |

Used to get a lot of non swinging hook ups from something called face party, but then it went to crap with monthly fees, and constant cam girl and escort ads. AFF used to be fairly good, if you want to pay the premium they’re charging these days |

"Gumtree personals , Raquels spa and Club lick both of which are now closed unfortunately.
We miss Raquel's, mind you we lived in Stratford then so it wa easy to get to 4 or 5 nights a week"
. Yeah it’s been over 10 years since it closed but still miss both Raquels & Club Lick. Mick who sadly passed away was always nice and friendly as was his wife / partner I think her name was Jenny |

It was a long time ago but I was always fascinated by the personal ads in the 90’s “lad’s magazines” and the top shelf publications which in turn led me to discovering a local swinging club in Walthamstow called Club Raquels.... from there I found out more about other clubs and started to visit others around the south east. |

I use to cam on Any Webcam dot com. ( No longer going.) A couple liked my cam and asked me to join them one weekend, and I did. Then another couple, then another.. The last turned me on to FAB and the rest is history... |

We first came across the swinging world via yahoo messenger in the old days of folks generally chatting on the net before Facebook etc.
There were a lot of free sites in the old days, many have gone some are now pay sites.
Swing 2 Us
Swinging Heaven (now pay site)
Dirty David’s
Then came Melanie’s, that was a good site in its day (I think she went into porn mainly after that)
Then we joined fab in its early days when some folks at chams told us about it. No change for years now Re sites for us. |

My first experience was 40 years ago and with my girlfriend of the time we arranged a foursome with another couple via putting an advert in Forum magazine. We had to use regular mail and send off our advert along with a cheque. The advert had a post box reply system so it was another six weeks before any replies.
We got a few replies but one was from another young couple in London and via telephone we made arrangements.This resulted in two amazing meets but then we split up. It was another 20 years before my next swinging adventure. |

Recently joined Bumble & POF, though more with a view to dating rather than instant meets.
Be nice to find a local who’s ready to share the lifestyle, but highly unlikely.
For guys it seems the regular dating scene is the opposite of fab with more women than men. Got over 200 likes on POF in just a few weeks.....

I think these days Fab is king. A good site for the price.
AFF for guys is about £35 a month and the website doesn't look like its been updated for 20 years and it runs like a bag of bolts.
Swing2us was my first site that I joined.
I didn't know about Craigslist personals until it had gone. It sounds like I have missed out.
Has anyone tried reddit? |

No I don't think so.
You pay a membership fee that's about 24 a month. You can then pay £14 a month that let's free accounts reply to your messages. But I don't think that they know this coz they never reply.
But I spoke to a few in the chat rooms and they didn't know they could reply. |

First experience was with swinging heaven, after that I found a hot wife/bull site which for the life of me so can't remember what it was called. Found a local woman who had the same breed of dog as me so we went on a walk together and ended up her bull for a good few months!
Also had a parallel path on TVChix, though that wasn't swinging as such, just lots of naughty parties.
Found fabs through doing a photo shoot with a local couple - they had it open on their computer so I made a mental note and checked it out later... |

I was on a site similar to AdultFriendFinder about 15 years ago.As a basic members I received lots of message but I couldn’t respond.When I paid a 3 month subscription about £60 I responded to the messages and sent out new ones with no responses.When I went to cancel the recurring billing that page of the website kept on freezing even when I did cancel it because I checked a couple of times after it took of the recurring billing and I was charged a second 3 month subscription.It too a long call to a premium phone number to make sure I would be charged again.Even though it was a long time ago I am very apprehensive with anything that involves recurring billing |

Personal ads in FreeAds/Loot newspaper
You’d write a letter, enclose a face pic and a stamped addressed envelope, post it off and sit and wait for a reply!
At best you were looking at a week to ten day turnaround and you were giving complete strangers pics and your address so there was a lot of trust involved. |

Used to be a magazine called desire I think that was name you’d place an add or write to a P.O. Box to reply with a letter and Polaroids lol took ages to sort meets but what it did do was sort the genuine from the chancers as you had to make some effort not just send a text and dick pick lol
I still know v well a couple and a lady I met thru there some 25 plus years later showing my age now il shut up lol |

I wasn't searching for anyone when I was asked to meet up.
I was on a tagging app on Facebook and chatting to all different people.
Then, some of them asked to meet me; so I did.
I still see one of them 11 years later.

Lycos Chat was a good place back in the early 2000s when I was at uni - met quite a few people through the chat there.

The good news is that the law has changed and you can now contact your bank and just tell them to stop paying XYZ Ltd and they have to do it.
They will wriggle a bit, trying to get you to contact the company etc. A bit like they do when you claim on the direct debit guarantee and have to explain to them what 'full and immediate refund' means |

. I did read somewhere that the bank can do it for you as you said but they can be awkward about it. As I said recurring billing is what’s puts me off joining a lot of sites and personally having to go into a branch and asking them to stop a payment to a adult or dating site I get a bit nervous / embarrassed but I guess it’s something I have to try to overcome. |
