I'm curious... what's wrong with my profile.

I've been told by some it's off-putting but, to me it seems perfectly reasonable.

The people who criticise it never offer suggestions to make their criticism constructive so, I thought I would ask the masses!

I personally don't dislike long hair on men, but I feel you look much much younger on your photos two years ago with shorter bouncy styled hair.

"I personally don't dislike long hair on men, but I feel you look much much younger on your photos two years ago with shorter bouncy styled hair."

That could well be an issue. My problem is I'm an actor and so, having long hair (and normally a full beard) is more of a blank canvas. It's hard to grow hair quickly when needed and I utterly hate wigs!

Interesting thought though.

I always think I look older with short hair but, I'm very open to the possibility of could be wrong!

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I'd say it makes you look a bit cheesy, a sort of Boycee from Only Fools and Horses. A lot of people might perceive that as a figure of fun and to be laughed at rather than laughed with.

BUT ......

It's your profile and you should do what you feel is right. It's your shop window, nobody else's.

Best of luck,

Gbat

Same picture with just different layers on, then the 'Boycey' one which, if you like it - fair enough.

Your 30 Apr pics are good. But what do I know. I'm a guy. You need the ladies to give it to you straight.

Firstly, I love that tie! It's hideous!

As for the stupid mustache... one of the curses of being an actor is having to have facial hair (and sometime haircuts) that don't make you look your best.

A lot of people (in person) have said they think it looks really good. I hate it and can't wait until I can get Rid of it!

I’m actually contradictory to some of the other comments, I like a man with long hair. I’d get rid of the “that’s not me” bit at the start of your bio and I’d delete some of the top public pics that all look the same just blazer on or off.

Had a browse. Depending on the photo I'm getting Boycie/Dave Grohl/Nick Knowles vibes.

I guess if the most recent ones are what you look like right now then stick with them. You don't want to turn up at a meet and be told you look nothing like you pics as that's a common complaint on here.

Better to be accurate than misleading...

Good luck.

30 April is a good pic. Gets ‘artist’ across without coming across as an extra on the editors floor of Benidorm. The text is …lacking confidence, it’s a bit apologetic in tone.

Just my 2 cents.

Self depreciation rarely has the desired impact.

I don't believe your should criticise yourself in your bio even in jest. It belies an insecurity that doesn't translate well in text.

Ruthlessly remove anything that doesn't show you in the best possible light. Pudgy isn't a good word for you. Let your photos speak for your physical appearance and use the bio to describe less tangible things

Write about yourself with confidence.

There is a disparity in your photos that will be a subtle red flag to some

Don't forget that with so much choice it doesn't take much to rule someone out. You look so different and both older and younger and that will alarm some. Your range as an actor might be working against you in this context.

Pick a look and run with that. Are you likely to meet in the next month? Just lose the moustache photos and if you do get a meet you can explain then...

I'd say about needing the "slug" for a musical until whenever.

Otherwise the angle of the photo and the suit makes you look abit like a creep waiter you d encounter on a dodgy holiday.. could also be moustache induced...

I'd retake a more casual photo and get rid of those 2

30th April are your best pics.

I think because your appearance has changed quite a lot as a lady you’re not sure what version of you may turn up.

If you don’t like the moustache and current look then talk about it in your bio (in a positive/ jovial way). No one will know it’s for a job role and will assume you like it.

I don’t mean this to be rude (but there’s no way to say it without sounding rude)…have you put weight on recently OP? In most of the pictures you look quite slim, even though they only show your face but there’s no fat under your chin and you don’t have chubby cheeks…but in the last 2 pictures that you’ve recently uploaded you look like you’ve put on weight, you seem to have a double chin and a big belly. I’m not saying that putting on weight is a reason why you’re being ignored but when you have a picture of your face looking slim and fat free and a week later you post a picture of yourself with a double chin and a big belly it could be a red flag to some people as it implies you’re not being honest with your pictures.

Also, isn’t it possible for you to wear a fake moustache while you’re on stage? Some people aren’t able to grow a convincing moustache as they don’t have much facial hair so does that mean that the role you’re currently playing can only be played by someone who’s able to grow a moustache? And these days wigs are very realistic and it’s often impossible to tell that someone’s wearing one, especially if they’re as far away from you as an audience would be when you’re on stage, so you should be able to style your hair however you want to and wear a wig to suit the part you’re playing.

I’m finding the number of people who think it’s completely fine to suggest OP curates his look to suit the whims of other people on a swingers’ site, rather than what works for his job, absolutely wild.

OP - I think you look great, maybe some profile text to explain your various looks, and which is current, might be a plan.

Firstly.... kudos for asking for feedback and then commenting again on your thread- that's RARE!!!

I get that you have to change your looks to work being an actor ... that must be hard especially when you don't like it.

But for me -I'm sorry if it's blunt - the most recent pics look like you've aged about 10/20 years compared to your 'headshot' and even the pic with shorter hair. So in short it gives catfish vibes.

Sorryyyyy but hope it helps with another person's POV?

"I don’t mean this to be rude (but there’s no way to say it without sounding rude)…have you put weight on recently OP?

And these days wigs are very realistic and it’s often impossible to tell that someone’s wearing one, especially if they’re as far away from you as an audience would be when you’re on stage, so you should be able to style your hair however you want to and wear a wig to suit the part you’re playing."

I don't think I've put on weight recently... could be that some camera angles are more flattering than others?

As for fake mustaches and wigs... I could do that but, face facial hair has a habit of falling off and wigs make my head very sweaty and itchy and it's distracting.

I get you're point though.
