Wink then ignore?

A few times recently I've received a wink from either a woman or a couple, I've winked back and sent a polite hello message, complimenting them on something within their profile, and then I never hear anything back. Sometimes the message is read and deleted, sometimes never read at all.

Any idea why people would wink and then not engage? Seems a little bit odd!

This happens a lot.

Weve figured one half of a couple sends the wink without consulting the other......when they then look at the account its no.

Weve done the same in our early days.

Winks can be sent accidentally. On the desktop site on a tablet, one accidental touch and the wink is sent. Where as on the mobile site it asks are you sure you want to send the wink, so two touches are required.

Sad to say get same sort of thing...

I know that there is loads of single guys on here so get why a message out the blue gets igrnored-deleted.

That said when you've had a wink or been chatting and your blocked I think it's very rude!

No idea but we get loads of winks from people and just ignore them. I'd say 98% of the time if we winked back it went no further, so we stopped.

I sometimes send a wink and if I get one back I assume it means they're interested in chatting rather than me sending lots of messages x

I got a wink from a tasty looking man, winked back and sent a message but no reply. Then he sent a friend's invite which I accepted, still didn't message back though. It was a trifle disappointing ...

There's a filtering of potential sexual partners, that starts from the moment that we become aware of them, through to the point where we may or may not engage genitals etc.

Sometimes we might be less certain, then things shift. It will always be about them, what they need and their preferences. Sometimes we'll always be fortunate and everything will come out rosy.

Sad it didn't work out Stephanie63, but I've found most guys do that to look - wank over your PVT pics which they then get acess too.

Looking at your profile I'd say it's there loss and move on your hot!

Well I appreciate the suggestions, thank you all! I mean, I don't get any interest anyway, so when you get a wink your little heart skips a beat... it's good to know it was probably just fat fingers and not a mental health emergency for someone. 😅

Cheers!

This happens to us, there are people who have done it a few times. Winked , we've messaged, no response. Then a few weeks or months later they've winked again. Obviously I could block them but if they've winked a few times then surely there's some interest there.

I've not been here long but have had a similar kinda thing.

I think in future if I like their profile I'll just return the wink and let them make the first move.

Yep, I've had that... Just as frustrating as when you message someone and the message is totally ignored.

"Yep, I've had that... Just as frustrating as when you message someone and the message is totally ignored. "

Depends very much on the message

We get about 20 a day on average and will ignore around 15 of them because it's clear they haven't read any of our profile.

"Hey" = delete

"How's your day?" = delete

"Free now?" = delete

"What u lookin 4" = delete

"I bet you love getting a thick load of hot....." = delete

People who message in good faith and aren't for us we always respond to even if it's a Thanks but No Thanks

Some people just don't bother at all. Yes it's rude but there is no moral obligation to reply to a message.

Couple might just be a guy pretending to be a couple and the same with the woman’s profile

Or it could be an accident or a simple change of mind

Who knows

This is a big bug bear of mine too. Even worse, they’ll totally ignore (but read) your follow up message & send an unsolicited friend request instead 🙄
