Just after feedback really from any ladies or couples that have gone through the menopause, my wife started really around October last year, and has lost all sexual feelings and desires, we had a very high sex life but now it’s completely dead, she is on HRT, but that’s not helped at all, I don’t put pressure on her at all, but how longs does this last, the Doctors said it can last years, or months and everyone’s different |

It can depend on the person,
I am on HRT but i am still quite a hornball if not more of a horn ball. I kind of went the opposite way... however mood swings hit me harder and sharper... i can be happy in on a switch i can be pissed off with no real reason why i am pissed off...
Is the HRT working for all other symptoms? x |

Her mood swings are quite bad sometimes, then the tears come when she calms down, but the sex and her constantly getting hot flushes, like sweating are the biggest things that haven't been helped by the HRT X |

It can take a while to find something that helps but it won't completely eradicate all symptoms. Neither is there a magic pill that will suddenly make her horny again. Perimenopause/ menopause and associated symptoms can last 2 to 7 years and sometimes longer.
Menopause is a massive physical and mental change for women and something we are only just really talking openly about as a society. Great that you are asking about it. Be supportive and patient with her. |

"Possibly the wrong HRT... i went through 2-3 different ones before getting one which helped everything... there are quite a few choices out there so its just finding the right ones xx "

I tried about 5 brands of patches before I realised I wasn’t absorbing them how I should be, I went on to gel & pills.
It’s probably her testosterone levels, the only way you’ll find that out is if you have a really good supportive drs, or goto a Superdrug who test for hormone levels.
It’s a long drawn out process I’m afraid, but get her to get her levels done asap |

I lost the lady I married to menopause and met the new lady I was (still) married to. We have had to learn new ways of being together. I found that treating like a new relationship has helped us stay together which suits us both thankfully but we are effectively a new couple, that includes everyday life but also im the bedroom (to be relevant to the focus of this site). |

testosterone is what she needs, you can get it on prescription from your doctor but it is quite a battle to get it, you'll be referred to a menopause specialist. I have the gel its made all the difference to my general drive as well as my sex drive. A more natural product is Himalayan Shilajit, works for some people. |
