Definitely a polite hello. Also with a bit of info off my bio to let me know it has been read.

Anything graphic crude or weird is a total turn off

A polite personal hello will get you a reply a straight to the point gets deleted

Straight to the point with a dick picture attached gets blocked and deleted

I'd say a polite first message, including something you like about their profile, if it's a couple address both of them.

That will at least get them to look at your profile only, so make it as interesting as possible, if they like you they will reply, if they don't, it is what it is, don't feel bad if they don't reply or worse delete without even looking, ghosting is normal in 2025 good thing about it is it works both ways

It's your profile really. Regardless what someone says (unless it's instantly off putting) the first thing people do is look at your profile. Chances are whether they chose to reply or not depends on if they like the look of your profile. So in terms of an opening you're better off keeping it to a simple hello (and maybe a complement).

😂😂

There is no right answer to this as it’s going to be a preference. The only rule you need to follow is don’t be a dick in any message you send.

It also won’t matter in most cases, nice messages or not if they don’t like your profile they ain’t replying.

I get why and I’m not complaining, rejecting nice people that send a nice message can feel worse than being rejected yourself. No one can do that 50 times a day and have a positive experience on Fab.

I always want to talk first to gauge compatibility.

Getting straight to the point gets you an instant delete.

Dont make it just ‘hello’ though. That’s nonsensical and not a conversation starter.

I believe sending a polite message will get you further than a straight to the point message.

Literally impossible to know unless stated very clearly on their profile.

Even then they might have 200 polite messages waiting for them.

Some like straight to the point no chitchat

Some like a slow burn get to know you.

If it's not something that you would say in person to a stranger then why send it as a message?

Although we are not currently looking for meets we do try to reply to messages as it's only polite, but for us, messages will be instantly deleted without even a profile view if they are any of the below:-

A cut and paste "trawl", (just sent out).

From a silhouette profile pic.

Minimum effort, eg "hey", "hi" "what you looking for" etc

Vulgar/crude etc, just not how you start a conversation.

Text chat, we don't want to spend ten minutes trying to decipher what you've said just because you couldn't be arsed to use proper words.

And most important of all, a message which doesn't show that you've read and understood our profile. Why should we read your profile if you can't be arsed to read ours?
