Although our profile says we’ve been here for a year we only started our journey a couple of months ago.

It sounds to me like you’ve been patient and progressed at a pace right for both of you. And with good communication between you, you’re both about to enjoy some amazing rewards.
The journey you describe is very similar to ours: lots of fantasising over the years, deciding to take the plunge, the thrill of conversations with potential playmates. And then finally making it real.

All sounds quite familiar, we have met a few guys from FAB now and one is still a regular hook up (Rach occasionally meets him alone too now also which turns me on massively).
