Any advice on the above to avoid the embarrassing receptionist questions? I'm looking to use a hotel in Glasgow for a daytime meet , and will be got about 2 -3 hrs. I've heard done hotels do day rates . Any one had to so the same in Glasgow?

Just check in as though you were staying the night. Leave the keycard in the room when you're done and just walk out. For all they know you might be going out for a night out and back later. No issues.

Normally just hand the key back on the way out. No one has ever said anything. It must happen all the time.

Try hotels near the airport, they tend to do day rates.

Other than that just do what you please, you've paid for it!

Not to mention that receptionists have really seen it all and are unlikely to care what you do... embarrassing questions will only arise if they are bored and want to f*ck your mind a little

If you were meeting a couple you could give them the key card when you go, that's what happened to a couple I know, they got given the room when the guy went

Why do you think the receptionist will ask questions? S/he knows what you have been up to ... don't let it worry you.

The only time it gets a little 'complicated' is when there are a number of you going to the same room... If the room is on the ground floor - you can pass the keycard through the window.

At Campanile hotels you don't have to pass a reception desk to get to the rooms...

We use them all the time if you pay for the room is nothing to do with them how long you use it for as long as you don't damage the room

book a day rate, pay for the room & car parking in advance & don't add anything on like the mini bar so when you leave you can either hand the key card in at reception or leave it in the room.

tbh tho they know exactly what your upto & like someone else said will only ask questions if they're bored.

I was a hotel receptionist until 2 weeks ago. The amount of people using a room for just a few hours during the day would surprise you, there's so many reasons, a nap/freshen up during a long journey, local meetings, interviews etc and of course there are those that make no secret about their intentions, we've seen gangbang parties, porn auditions etc.

Pick a hotel and call them, ask if they have a day rate, give them your ETA so they can have the room clean and read.

If you need more than one key then just ask when you're at the desk, it's really not unusual or alternatively you can meet your friend/s at the bar/restaurant and all head back to the room together. No body keeps tabs on who's there with who and why unless you are a vip.

There's also no need to tell them anything about your stay, you simply need a day room with x amount of keys and thats it.

it was only the female that met the guy then the husband followed a few hours later after the guy had gone

Has anyone tried 9to5.com, as I'm getting a site that seems to be not really a hotel day rate site. It's not a terrible site, with anything weird etc, but just doesn't seem to be what the op was asking for, and the correct site would be great, if anyone knows it. The co.uk isn't registered, so it's not that one.

Thank you!!

A friend and I used to use hotels quite a bit. Sometimes we stayed over for the night, and therefore got a nicer hotel, and when we only wanted it for an evening we went to an etap, I remember them costing pnly about £20.

St.Mellons Cardiff

as you are booking the room for the night.

arrange a few more shags and get your moneys worth out of the room.

but most MEN would last all night

You are asked at check in whether you would like to swipe a credit card to cover the cost of anything you wish to charge to your room (posting) if you say no and opt to pay as you go then they place a 'no post' on your room meaning that all the tills in the hotel show this when they swipe your room key, so if someone was to try it they would be told it's not possible and to pay as you go.

And for the damage issue, paying the room rate on arrival in cash solves that.

Choose a big chain hotel.

I made the mistake of booking a much smaller family-run place and that was cringe-worthy handing the key back a few hours after arrival

"Thanks guys. 2-3 hrs is plenty for anyone, except Sting. "

2 - 3 hours would be a bit of a disappointment to be honest. A year or so ago, a ladyfriend and I holed up in a hotel for just short of 24 hours. When we looked back at it a few days later, we reckoned that we'd spent over 17 hours fucking sucking licking playing stroking and massaging...the rest of the time we wasted with sleeping eating and drinking...lol. It took both of us a couple of days to recover afterwards though, but it was SO worth it Unfortunately she's no longer on the scene after getting married, and I think it unlikely that I could top that experience...I am willing to try with the right lady though...lol.

I've been to a hotel a few times. Guy just paid on arrival and it was fine apart from one time when we were checking in, receptionist looked me up and down like I was local prostitute.

I use them in Basildon, Romford, Chelmsford for bukkakes etc & only use them for a couple of hours, we hand them back their key after a couple of hours & as long as they are paid they don't care.

Business men use them most days for naughty encounters so they get used to it.

It's nothing to do with the receptionist how long you use the room for. Hand the card back with dishevelled hair and a huge grin on your face and say sorry about the sheets

Former hotel receptionist here!

The chain I worked for used to ship in a lot of staff from India. They were quite puzzled by some of the requests, me and my co-worker used to have great fun winding them up

If you use somewhere like a Travelodge, they probably won't even notice you've gone, and anyway, they probably really couldn't give a monkeys.

On a similar theme, we heard from friends about a meet they had- the other couple had booked a room at a small b and b for the night and asked at reception whether they could entertain friends in their room, and were met with a resounding no.
