Changed my name just wonderd if that was a good idea as might confuse people Iv been talking to ? Or should message and tell them ?

Have you informed the DVLA, Council etc.....?

If the messages haven't been deleted, won't the "from" box be updated automatically?

Leave it as you are, if anybody gets confused, it will highlight precisely how memorable you were to them....
