Why are there so many people eager to jump in at the first opportunity, to comment on your forum posts?
Try to belittle the poster or by replying make themselves appear better? |

As I clearly stated :
'Proves a point'
Proves forumites are very eager to consolidate and join forces when challenged!
I welcome replies once they are justified, not replies purely for the sake of them. |

I think the OP is right and some comments proved it.
He did not ask why people reply to posts, he asked why some people only reply with sarcasm or ridicule a persons right to make a comment or have an opinion and his question was instantly answered by sarcasm and his right to ask a question and answered often in a sarcastic way. |

There are people that jump on comments on here,maybe to make themselves look good, who knows? I tend to ignore people like that unless they're being offensive or personal
There are also people that take every post as personal and offensive to them if they're not hearing what they want to hear

If nobody answered any of the posts on the forums then the forums would die a death.
Once again I will reiterate part of my first reply on this thread - "it would be strange if only the OP was allowed and then no replies"
Also the question was asked i.e. "Why are there so many people eager to jump in at the first opportunity, to comment on your forum posts?"
To answer that one from my point of _iew anyway - When I am at home I have both the PC and laptop on, I'm usually doing "other" work on the PC and have FAB on the laptop and if I see a forum post that interests me I answer it, nothing more and nothing less! I always thought that is what any forum was meant to be about.
So still applies from me anyway!

I accept that, and I do get his point. But I was a little bemused that he appears to (only appears mind, as I don't know what he is thinking) be somewhat surprised that people added the posts that they did. I know some just belittle others, something I would never dream of doing. I was joining what I thought was a healthy debate and giving my opinion. Neither right nor wrong,just my thoughts. But I know what he means. |

One of the nice things about swinging in general and about the forums here is the way they are here for everyone, some of the people are very well educated, some are more mediocre and some (like myself) have a low level of education.
The forums have helped me improve my ability to converse in print, hopefully they will do the same for others.
Over the years I have learned to read posts as they are and try to see what the person is trying to say not just what they type.
Doing that showed me that the OP in this instance was trying to ask a question aimed in an attempt to ascertain why some people often if not always comment in a negative or sarcastic manner.

I did post then deleted as I couldn't understand the need to ask the question if he knew the answer.. and yes there are people like that..and the people who just want to intellectually debate everything to the end of time.. and then the ones who want to point score on someone they have a beef with..
did he want the people to confess up and cleanse their souls......
thats what makes the forum what they are.
and people even get banned from the forums for said above behaviours... |

thats why I will first and foremost look at my own behaviours before I look at others. I have been the biggest arse/diva/self obsessed twat on here in the past, revelling in my self perceived celebrity but also one of the kindest people you will ever meet...
I only have myself to answer to.
all in all, it is part of lifes journey.
thats why I love it all now..

I love taking the piss, it usually isn't done with any malice, but it can be taken out of context I dare say when it is read as plain text in a forum.
That's just the way forums are .. not really the best indicator of a persons personality |

Have to agree RedHot, I often say things in jest in forums which are taken too literally, in a personal chat a wink, a glint in the eye, a smile or the actuall tone of voice can completly change what you say but in the written word it can come accross quite harshly so easily |

Our experience is that it's usually the same people that do it in all the forums.
I guess that once they've read the daily mail, been on mums net, and watched loose women, they need something else to fill their empty lives. |

A forum is all about opinions. Those opinions will on occasion clash. That's what can make a forum richer and even educational. Healthy debate is always good.
However only a very stupid or naive person would dare to judge another person, that's when a thread can fall apart. There is an element of self-righteous pomposity that can creep into some posts, a superiority complex if you will or as I like to call them 'The JudgMENTALISTS'.
I never ever get involved with those types of threads as you can't reason with stupidity.
A person is well within their rights to like marmite, and you are well within your rights to say you don't like it. However nobody is a cunt for liking it or not liking it. Sure as shit someone even more stupid than you will think you are a cunt for liking butter.
My advice, when a JudgMENTALIST pipes up, walk away from the thread and don't look back. |

you have a point. some threads go unanswered here but some get slaughtered by the same crew. why dont they answer all threads if they feel that obliged to reply to forum posts. some peeps do pick on certain threads only. |
