Around

Means to bump the forum message back up to top of most recent messages so it doesn't get lost as new messages and topics are posted. Basically a way to keep your topic current

"Sorry guys what does BUMP mean lol"

If the thread went quite ie no one had posted on it for a few days weeks it gets lost and die so just writing bump can bring it back to life.

The Bump was a 70s disco hit by Kenny which had its own dance.

People also use it to come back to a thread later. If they comment on a post it appears in their 'recent threads you posted to' section and is easier for them to find next time they use the forum.

It is something people do in a vain attempt to get their topic noticed when they don't have anything useful to add.

Op. I think it’s when someone ‘bumps’ a thread and get people talking on it again.
