So I (Mr A) have come late to the manscaping game after a lifetime of au natural. I've just done a basic do over with clippers, and while I'm loving how it looks and feels (and Mrs A is a fan), I'd like to finesse things a little. Get a little more style going on, trim closer in certain parts and maybe extend thing a little further underneath.

Any advice from avid manscapers? Any favoured tools or tips for getting the best results with the minimum discomfort?

Apparently if you do your balls in cold water first its makes them tight and shave ready. You can get closer without getting your skin caught in the trimmer . I haven't tried it myself. I just seem to pain stakingly trim away each hair and go over it about a thousand times.

Wax.

Pay someone to do your armpits and your legs.

The potential BO difference from having no pit hair is incredible.

Also you may make a new friend in your beautician, I certainly did.

To tidy up use a once used razor in the shower and oil or moisturise after for a few days.

Never use your clippers without a guard.

Mach 3, good shaving brush and bodyshop shaving cream. Nice warm bath. Shave shaft, balls and crack. Neatly trim the rest of the garden v. short with clippers. Still keeps an adult male look but keeps hair out the way and all the lickible surfaces smooth on the tongue. That's the best I can describe my landscaping without a picture.

Sod the Mach 3. It's not a bad face razor, but for other bits it's rubbish.

The Venus Embrace fits the same handle and is so much better.

But... The Venus Swirl is the best handle out there. Fits Swirl, Embrace and Mach 3 blades.

Haha...I was going to nick some of Mrs A's blades, but maybe I'll just nab the whole razor!

It's all in the angles of the blades.

Good luck at nicking her razors.

An aerosol and a cigarette lighter to ignite the spray and singe all the hairs back to ground zero.

I, uh, I think I'll just stick to a razor.

We use the Philips bodygroom clipper - even without the guard! And for the close shave it’s the seiko cleancut.
