We are intrigued by it but aren't sure whether it would ever work for us in practice. We think maybe a poly relationship with another couple would work for us better than just a plus one.

Partially; my wife has a boyfriend but I don’t have a girlfriend. That’s not a dynamic that would work for us.

I did but I kind of spoilt it by focussing on the lady more as time went on. That's more my thing but it alienated the other partner who felt neglected. Now I am a lot more experienced and a bit wiser, I'd build both relationships more evenly.
