Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

Yes, but the anticipation and finally seeing that envelope arrive! Delayed pleasure can be increased pleasure.

Between Chichester and Havant

This was how I had my first meets. I always enclosed an sae, which helped with replies. Progressed to the ones with phone numbers and met a really great couple after she text me. Met up for a social and continued to see them regularly over 8 years.

You would actually speak to people on the phone to know they were real. The worlds a different place now. A few clicks can do so much

It took effort but I used to get more meets through contact mags than I do online now. It is to easy to set up a profile so everywhere is flooded with single men, and many of the women’s and couples profiles are set up by time wasters or just completely fake.

The time and effort required with the contact mags put off many men and all the time wasters.

The smaller numbers made it easier for genuine people to meet up.

I met a few people through contact mags in the 90s - one mag was called Experience or something like that. They were small and fitted in you pocket, unlike mags like Fiesta. Also met a couple through Channel 4 teletext!

Mitzimad that's not close to being funny, it's just ageist! An apology is in order.

Yes heady days the "contact mag"

Sending Polaroid Pictures off the the publisher. Then waiting up to 5 weeks for the replies. As the previous poster said, the anticipation!

One thing there were very few no shows.

"Our first real swing meet was from an advert in Desire. "

Started my swinging journey as part of a married couple many, many moons ago using Desire magazine. Polaroid camera, S.A.E.'s and lots of waiting for the postman

Blimey, now those mags take me back! I used to buy them, even managed to get a couple of meets organized too. I used to love looking at all the pictures of "Sharon from Nottingham" and "Lucy from Hull". I might even have one or two of them stashed away in a box in the loft.

In many of those contact mags females were allowed to advertise for free. Working girls shall we say caught on and would place their ads with landline or mobile numbers.

Got some great meets from them it was a lot more exclusive in those days.
