My libido is often higher when I'm menstruating, and orgasms can help to ease period pains, so it's a no brainer for me. My husband isn't phased at all, in fact he quite enjoys the raw, primal element. I'd be happy to have sex with other men while I'm bleeding too, as long as they were comfortable with it, obviously. My ex was unfazed with it and was one of the many things that I liked about her. Then she went off sex completely hence the ex bit.

I'll say this since it's becoming more common: only downfall with a menstrual cup is have to take it out first & PLEASE DONT PULL ON THEM LIKE A TAMPON.....OUCH

A menstrual cup or Mooncup as they're often called, is a silicon cup, about the size of half an egg, which sits inside a woman, in the same way a tampon would, only the cup catches the blood (as oppose to a tampon absorbing it) which can then be emptied, rinsed and replaced. Much safer than tampoms (no risk of toxic shock syndrome), more environmentally friendly, and cheaper too, as they can be reused for years.
A Beppy Sponge is a small sponge about the size of an egg, but flatter (imagine a cross-section), which sits up inside a woman and absorbs the blood in the same way a tampon would. It doesn't have a string like a tampon (there's a hole in the sponge that you can hook a finger into for removal), and is much softer, so can be left in place when you have sex. It's barely detectable by a man, so it's ideal if you want to have sex while menstruating, but don't want the mess.

You don't have to take a cup out, we manage to get round it. There are different types of discs and cups though, some are good to use during sex. Position can be a factor with a cup, no doggy for me but front facing is great! |

Having sex with a sponge in place is fine, the man can barely feel its there. A silicon cup on the other hand, can be a little uncomfortable for the man, due the the little silicon tail which is used to remove it...as my husband once inadvertently found out when I forgot to remove it in the heat of the moment!

No. I don't have regular periods so I only know it is coming when the pain starts. Then I don't want to go anywhere or be around anyone.
I guess if I had 'normal' periods, I would probably go close to my start date as long as I wasn't actually bleeding. |

I’m past all that now being menopausal and I don’t miss having periods. However when I had them I didn’t have sex. I felt periods were a woman’s private time and I would feel crap.
