I think either can be appropriate. Palms up and open, or down and relaxed on your thighs. Up and open may be more overtly submissive but either can express your willingness to accept and submit.

Is this in reference to Gorean Kajira positions?

If so the stuff I've seen with the nadu kneeling position is that normally the hands go palm up.

Palms up would seem open and not hiding anything so symbolic in that way.

In a non symbolic way, Im also keen on hands behind back or on my cheeks pulling me in closer
