Yep, nowt wrong with hotel meets. Get the feeling many are against them.. not sure why.
Not totally comfortable with the insistence that a potential meet should be able to accommodate in their home.
I can do it, and would, especially as I don't know the current situation with hotels. But under normal circumstances I don't see why it would be a must..
.. other than the expense, of course.
