Not that I think I have an infection, but, I have come to the conclusion that testing would be a good idea in general and because I have met a new, possible long term partner with whom the 'lifestlye' may become more active. Can anyone offer advice on getting a health check, is the local hospital GUM cinic the only option apart from the seemingly extorionate on line private services |

local GUM clinic is the best option in my opinion.... they are great, non judgemental and they make you very relaxed
just be honest.... good luck there and in your new relationship |

+2 for GUM clinic here too, went last week and as previous poster has said, non judgemental, good advice given and overall a good experience. Results by text or email. Optional HIV test offered too. |

Local clinic is great. They can help best if they know your swinging.
I never got tested before I was in this lifestyle. But in reality everyone should.
It's not scary and I stopped worrying about it ages ago.

Went yesterday for 6 monthly "peace of mind" check up and they could not have been nicer. Praised me for being responsible and gave me loads of free condoms. Our clinic run a "no news is good news" policy on blood/HIV tests (14 day wait) and imediate results on swabs (all clear). Lady Just xx |

GUM Clinic or Sexual Health Clinic are great...only thing is the last couple of times I've been they've been asking me all about it whilst I've had my legs in the stirrups!! Had a good laugh with them about it, and have a feeling one of them fancies giving it a go with the number of questions she was asking.
They are really good though, and just be honest with them as they really have heard it all before |

I went to the GUM clinic a few times while at uni (luckily all clear). They're very professional but the first time I went I could see the difficulty the nurse was having keeping her eyebrows under control when I told her how many people I'd played with in the last 6 months! hahaha

GUM 100%, do not use these online services as they can not detect abnormalities such as warts which are highly infectious. The nurses are lovely and put you at ease. |

have attended both GUM and CASH clinics for checks both departments were very professional and never blinked an eye or sniggered - was a bit embarring for me first visit since i had worked with the doctor and the nurse previously lol. have regular checks and also extras if accidents occur such as burst condoms |
