We do this and when it's good it's easily the most exciting thing we've done in terms of swinging. For me, I'd say the key is not being shy about saying no to someone if the conversation starts to feel a bit less than promising, or you meet and they're not as hot as they had seemed.
We arrange most of these meets through another site (a famous one originally set up to have affairs).
