There's a big community of oriental people in London, the fact we have a good size oriental area in central area proves it. London also isn't the only city with big community, have you been to places like Birmingham or Manchester? Even Portsmouth and Oxford there's loads. I'm quite astounded by people's response to this thread tbh lol |

As a multicultural Asian/Caucasian, can I just say oriental is super outdated way to describe 'people of the orient'.
Just Asian is fine. Or Korean, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Uzbek, Indian, Pakistani, Indonesian. Whatever we are is probably the best, if you know.
Oriental is a description of colonialism, you can describe a rug as being of oriental style, because it is a Asian, colonial style Rug, but not a person. |
