I was visiting Manchester quite a few years ago and got a cab back to my hotel after a night out. The driver was very nice and chatty, but as we pulled up at the hotel he suggested that he would let me off the fare if I “helped him out”! I had to ask him to say it again as I thought i must have mis-heard the first time. And then it was very clear exactly what he meant.
I politely declined, but the thing that annoyed me most was that it was only a short trip and the fare was only about 4 quid! |

whilst i do like some of the fake taxi videos and anyone can create a fake taxi to a degree.
but theres issues with it.
if you display a fake taxi badge and are stopped its sever consequences
the list of issues are long
as goes for the proper taxi drivers its there wages is it worth them being caught doing so.
if they are caught they loose there license and are black listed for life everywhere. |

i had to look this up attach fake taxi stuff to a car
sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for two years, 100 hours unpaid work, six months driving ban, 36 days rehabilitation activities, and £500 costs after pleading guilty.
if you get caught having sex in a taxi it can come with a jail sentence
it has something to do with doing a public service hence the reason why you get black listed and comes with extra conseqences. |

Even so just given the horrific abuse by an actual police officer I'd have expected the company to stop that scenario (all for the Fake Taxi/Agent ones and the regular use of Tina Kay is brilliant).

In a technicality, there’s nothing wrong with driving an LTI (Black Cab) on private insurance. It’s even technically ok to have “TAXI” on your car. It’s the act of offering your services for Hire and Reward that’s an offence.
It’s also not actually an offence to receive payment in kind. What IS absolutely (and rightly so) an offence, is to do what someone else has already posted and ASK for favours instead of cash. Sexual harassment will lose you your badge in a heartbeat!!
