The demise of stockings and suspenders

It comes and goes with fashion. On a recent shopping trip, I was surprised to find some hold ups and suspended stockings in stock in High Street shops. What I saw was that they stopped the expensive high-quality versions probably because it’s become more often up market item.  |

My wife not slim now but still looks amazing in stockings/suspenders but as said here only wears them at home as part of our role-playing fun.
Now when out will wear opencrotch tights instead, which still so hot |

I have a good friend who I’ve always fancied from afar, would never say anything in case I lost her as a friend, getting more difficult now that she’s divorced though I must say.
She’s late 50’s but looks and behaves much younger. Went around her house recently and she’s just started a new job with an airline at Bristol Airport. Her uniform was on the drier in the lounge, bright red blouse and skirt, lacey red bra and some flesh coloured, lace top hold ups.
Can only dream of how she looks. |

They're a ball ache to put on and come apart the moment you start walking.
I like the look of suspender belts, but if I wear them I usually won't bother with stockings and attach thigh garters instead. I prefer going bare legged above the knee |

Tights keep your legs warm in the winter and hid all the bad bits
Stockings are a pain and only good for dressing up for special time!
Hold ups are a better option but still roll down and are a pain |

Need to get metal clasps. The plastic ones are terrible!
They are impractical for every day wear, but I adore wearing them and find the whole fastening a trussed up feeling really sexy. Then again, I wouldn't want to wear them everyday! |

I always wear stockings, never tights.
Either hold-ups or ‘proper’ stockings with a suspender belt - depending on my outfit.
Stockings make me feel feminine, sexy and a little bit naughty.
I can’t stand tights.

When I get elected prime minister (it might happen) then I’m making it law all women must wear stockings or hold ups at all times.... tights will be banned obviously... with that manifesto pledge, I could actually get elected .. I’d def get the Male vote  |

I find M&S 60 and 40 denier hold ups are not too bad.
Ann summers do a few stockings, but not much everyday wear. |

I love wearing hosiery.
I wear holdups for work as all day wear but for evenings and formal events I’ll wear stockings and suspenders.

Dee used to wear stockings and suspenders pretty much all the time 80’s and 90’s but they seemed to drop off in the 2000’s, she wears hold-ups these days if she has a dress on, great if she gives an accidental flash, like getting in and out of a car when it can’t be helped ! |

We need to protect the wearing of stockings suspenders and hold ups at all costs!!! I can't understand this worrying trend of wearing random strap outfits that look like they include stocking tops but are actually decoy garters with bare legs underneath

It is a shame we see less wearing of nylons.
I remember well the wonderful hosiery sections in dept stores like Debenhams and a wonderful wide choice of all sorts and styles of stockings and tights …. mmmm I was in heaven.
When out, I will almost always wear stockings .. often FF stockings, sometimes hold ups … dependent on the skirt type, and very occasionally tights … they have their place.
But agree, would love to see ladies nylons … always wondering are they tights … or stockings!! mmmm
