Has anyone ever had swinging go wrong and ended up on wrong end of a romance scam ? As your missus ?
We met a couple from Wakefield on here and admittedly I gave nod for my wife to see the guy outside of any couples arrangment as me and his lady didn’t hit off.
Looking back First red flag was him adding us as 4 into group chat and insisting we onky speak in there meanwhile messaging wife privatey sexually stuff
Wife resisted at first for couple months but then met him and developed a great “ friendship “ with only minimal sexual contact
Over time they got feelings and I was calling out many lies wife had told , particularly around money being transferred to this guy
She changed so much beyond all recognition to me and her friends
She would drop anything to see him, the only thing that mattered was him
Anyway just as he was telling her they would move in together, we met another couple who had been with them and told us how dodgy this couple wer.
We then put a stop in and As everything come out there was the truth, she had transferred him around £4.5k over 6 months and spent hundreds more on days out , meals, bars and all that all paid for by us
I have finally seen the messages and it’s clear this was a very deliberate and successful attempt to befriend, manipulate and coherse money out of my wife, he would give her just enough never more , to keep her on hook, he is on anti physcotics and I’ve since found out he’s known to be a absolute weirdo amongst local community. Some of messages would be for example when wife was quite ill in hospital, “ transfer me £200 and I will come see you cheer you up “
Or. £300 and will make wife go to work so you can come see me !
On the eye he was gentle, half charming, down to earth and “ normal “
I half reckon the wife was in on it tbh.
Of course wife feels so stupid and does take some responsibility but he well and truly manipulated her I’ve seen the messages and it’s clear
We have had a officer look at chat log and he said it’s clear as day what he was doing and we have a good case
This man thinks it’s all done now but he’s in for a shock
Just be careful folks
Specially if a man by name of Paul in Wakefield is into your lady
( I can post full couple profile name if anyone thinks it’s worthwhile )

This absolutely sucks dude. I’m sorry you’ve had to experience this.
I hope it all works out - from the sound of it he fancies himself a charmer - fingers crossed you get your money back and rebuild things. |
