Liverpool

What hotel chain is most lax when it comes to letting people get inside?

I know we can meet people in lobby, extra card etc but does anyone have specific chains they know that CBA?

Bonus points if you know one in merseyside

Hilton if you become a loyalty club member

Online check in

Use your phone as the key

Share a key with another member so they can use their phone as a key too

Leeds

Village hotels have a self check in desk, sometimes manned but never been stopped just wondering in, certainly the case at both Leeds sites.

Never been stopped at any village hotels or premier inns. If you walk straight past reception like you’re going to your room then they won’t question you

I find that way too risky and also not that easy.

No way am I permanently having my room key on someone else’s phone for the entirety of my stay. I prefer when they don’t have a key, or they can just leave it.

People book hotels just for a meet, yes... Giving someone else your room key as part of your two week holiday, no, giving someone, or a group of people your room key for them to meet you for a few hours.... Ok

Hong-Kong/Exeter

Travel Lodge don't seem to care one bit, and the one in Lincoln at least has a rear access (ooh matron) that means you can show guests in out of view of staff.

Think you can cancel a digital key in the Hilton app too. Although a lot of their hotels you can get to the rooms without a key for the lift anyway.
