In a bit of a twist we had to cancel a meet once for genuine reasons. He wasn't best pleased and left the site shortly after. He rejoined and we arranged to meet again and in a deliberate tit for tat move he cancelled on us last minute. |

Absolutely hate them. Had more than our fair share, but the last year or so hasn't been too bad.
Annoyingly, I had a meet lined up with an absolute hottie on here a few years ago, started driving to hers and the brakes on my car failed with me nearly ploughing into the back of a truck. It sounded like a typical timewasting excuse and understandably she didn't want to rearrange 😢 I was absolutely gutted lol. |

I wouldn't let anyone get past 2 excuses /let downs op.
There are genuine emergencies and reasons people can't meet when arranged, sure.
If it's everytime you've planned a meet, there's something not right going on there. If have blocked them ages ago. |

That's really petty, you can tell when someone is cancelling for a genuine reason.
I think the person that stood me up here, did it for similar reasons. I couldn't meet for ages, as I worked and cared for my dad then.
He knew this when we started chatting, when we finally got to a social, he stood me up!. |

You let someone have the opportunity to cancel on you 20 times? Wow!
Many moons ago when we lived in Kent we had arranged a meet at our place. We worked out the journey time from his place to ours was between 30 and 40 minutes. After two hours we figured we had been let down and went to bed.
The next day there were five emails stating we were timewasters, but we were none the wiser as to what went wrong. Well that was until we spoke to friends living nearby who had been woken up at midnight by a guy claiming he was there for a threesome
It turns out their postcode was one letter away from ours and he had put it in his sat nav wrong.
He apologised profusely of course, and tried to rearrange a meet. Unfortunately his five emails had shown a different side to him and we were no longer interested.

We knew he was going to cancel, you know when you can just tell, so we didn't get too excited |

I had one guy tell me he had no petrol in the car 5 mins before a meet. Like okay, but tell me earlier.
Blocked and never rearranged. He seemed to be picture hunting, arranging meets as a way to get new pics |

1. Texting from hospital with appendicitis.... yeah right, texting would be the last thing on your mind 🤣🤣
2.Run over by a bicycle.... wuss
3.Heart attack
4.Run over by a car.
5. Came down with a cold or covid an hour before. Numerous times.
6. I'm on the way.... no show Numerous times.
7. Went for a shower and fell asleep.
So we don't arrange no meets no more. It seems we're the kiss off death and we really don't want a text from a guy saying he can't make it as it's his funeral. |

Yeah, and most of the no shows say they are genuine, won't let us down, 100% I'llbe there. No one will ever say " I'm a wanna come but really I'm a time waster" 🤣
Gave 1 guy another chance after his car broke down. He must have had an old banger as it broke down again. 🤣🤣 |

The worst one for me was when I simply didn’t wish to meet them.
There was this expectation that since I’m a single male one should just be grateful for the offer - sorry but I have more self respect |

Things happen and get in the way of your plans, it's life unfortunately.
When people keep making excuses though, then you have to think do they really want to arrange something or just unreliable. Maybe even a time waster. |

I generally give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Life happens, fab isn’t a priority, and I have better things to do with my time than overthink someone else’s reasons for cancelling.
So honestly I don’t really mind, but I do lose interest and then the onus is on them to reschedule or try again.
I absolutely won’t tolerate anyone who goes dark and then pops up much later with an excuse though. There is no reason someone can’t message out of courtesy to cancel |

It’s that last paragraph that annoys me |

Had quite a few cancellations and some who actually messaged first, start chatting everything going great then "boom" just ghost you for whatever reason
I've just learnt it's either they've got cold feet about meeting or just a time waster. |

I've never had a no show in all my time here.
Every meet I've arranged has turned up on time.
I've had two women use me as a plan B but I could see what they were doing so didn't travel and the next day they had shiny new verifications from their plan A including one which named the coffee shop she wanted to meet me in.
In those cases there was no second chance and I said as much when coffee shop lady got back in touch.
If there was a genuine reason I would give someone a second chance but there would be no third. |

One guy we arranged for C to meet for a social. Meeting in the middle, about 30 mins each way.
C had got ready and was leaving, leaving, leaving….but never messaged to say he had left as agreed.
We got a response about 30 mins later asking if he could straight to ours for sex 🙄
Was a verified account too. The strange walk amongst us.

All we are getting lately are time wasters. Mainly couples saying at the las minute saying the lady can’t make it but the male can. Obviously a guy acting as a couple. We have also had a guy ghost K on a solo hotel meeting two days before. We can’t remember the number of different excuses we don’t know where they get them from. We are looking for genuine couples |
