Can be a bit painful initially, when trying to get fully excited. If wearing for prolonged periods, 24/7, the first three nights can be painful.
Smaller cages tend to be more comfortable as they restrict movement. For prolonged wear, I would recommend metal (open bar style).
I have recently reached 40 months of almost 24/7 caging. Love it and prefer it now.
