Do you prefer compliments or (honest) judgements?

I'm a firm believer that compliments are thrown around to try and "woo" people, even if they are overblown and not meant whereas an honest judgement can be a huge turn on.

Compliments only count when they are from people who actually know you, from strangers I can take it or leave it because the intention is usually self motivated.

I prefer sincere compliments, when given graciously, and not faux flattery. Sycophancy, however, is thrown around on here like confetti - mostly by men - who think it will give them the upper hand to ingratiate the women on here.
