First FFM of a fashion

Is it a faux pas to ask of someone we met (in a club in this instance) if rather than full on that it’s more of a fool around (maybe initially) never had an FFM and would like to “dip our toes”

If you were asked this from the outset, would we be told to take a long run off of a short pier?
