Your to do list

Just wondering if anyone sees winks as an ice breaker or note of interest. We receive a fair few and also send a few but not offended do we see a response.

What's the communities thoughts on this?

We don't mind a wink to be honest! We feel it signals a bit of an interest and will reciprocate if we feel the same back.

Our take is that if we wink and get one back then we follow up with a message. We would hope that is the case in reverse too but it doesn't always lead to a message from the winker. Thats cool with us though as not everyone uses Fab in the same way.

At the end of the day its a nice wee acknowledgement of another profile and we dont feel its a waste of anyone's time etc.

I only usually use them if it says on their profile that they don't mind them. I'm quite happy to receive them, but they happen so infrequently that I often miss them. I had one 3 months ago and have only just noticed, their situation has changed now so it's just the female. Not sure whether to respond now, or if that ship has sailed.

I assumed they're an indication that someone wants to chat to you. I received a wink yesterday off a local lady, so I popped her a message and she promptly blocked me. No idea what they're for now.

I always respond to the occasional wink I receive. It just feels polite I guess.

We see them as a "I can't be arsed sending you a decent message so here's a wink"

We need to know guys can have a decent conversation so a wink is a bad start for us. Also says in our profile (hidden for now) we don't respond to winks so shows us that they didn't read that either.

Winks are ok they serve the purpose of a quick hey we are interested we do send them ourselves sometimes, but nothing beats a good brief introduction message that also shows they have read your profile (or you have read theirs) and not just looked at your pictures, especially when it comes to single guys, we try to always reply to these types of messages even if we aren't interested as for us it's a polite thing to do if they have actually taken the time to write something thoughtful.

What we don't get is the people that wink , we respond to them and then that's it no reply , what is that about 🤣🤣

I always wink first to see if there is interest...problem is us guys have to be witty, charming and interesting so theres no point writing a long ass message trying be those things just to be ignored or get told no thanks

As a single woman on here I don’t look. I much prefer a message,

On my couples page we use them as a sign to other couples we are invited, if we get one back we shall then send a message

I send a few, most as part of a forum thread thing, where people have essentially said they are ok to receive them.

I’m never offended getting winks or dare I say it a fab or two.
