Then in that case I imagine it's very subjective and different for everyone.
It's like asking what sex is...everyone would give a slightly different answer based around the rather general theme. |

to me, its like:

Historically it's been partner swapping, with the word 'swinging' inferring a swap of some kind. This is why many swingers on this site do not consider singles as being swingers...because they've not got anything they can 'swap'.
Having said that it would appear that recently swinging and nsa sex, probably thanks to the growth of internet porn, have blended together to form something much wider including dogging, threesomes, orgies, cuckolding, and all variety of weird and wonderful sexy activities. It's this broader sexual culture which exists on Fab. Most of it is probably not really swinging...but it works well together and complements each other so everyone's generally happy to see it all under one roof.
The real problems come at the two extremes i.e. people looking to cheat on their partners or single people mainly looking for love. These people are on the site because it's a freely available web service to help them in their quest. But there is a lot of dis-ingenuity that comes with their activities and that generally conflicts with what everyone else is trying to get from the site and can cause problems.
That's my own personal summary lol |
